The Kids Brain Program![]() The Kids Brain program is a non-invasive, non-painful therapeutic program for children and teens that focuses on the optimization of brain function through the use of neurotherapy. Otherwise known as “Neurofeedback EEG,” neurotherapy has been shown to help children and teens manage their own symptoms related to ADD/ADHD, Autism, Tourette's Syndrome and other common pediatric disorders — in some cases without the need for medication. Kids Brain is a comprehensive program that requires a serious commitment by both the child/teen and their parents. There is a direct correlation between participation, attitude, attendance, and the level of success your child will achieve. Therefore, it is absolutely essential to understand that this program requires a sincere commitment. IMPORTANT: While neurofeedback has been demonstrated by hundreds of studies and other medical documentation to be a successful tool in treating children dealing with everything from anxiety to tics to learning disabilities, it should not be considered a “magical" cure-all for all mental or behavioral difficulties your child may be having. Additional clinical studies are currently being performed to explore its efficacy even further. The Kids Brain Program consists of 2 different components. 1. Patient Assessment and T.O.V.A. Testing:
2. Neurotherapy Sessions -- "Brain Training " The Neurotherapy portion of the Kids Brain Program will initiate on the first office visit . Prior to initiating the first "brain training" session, Dr. Guerra will discuss and review the results of the Patient Assessment, T.O.V.A. testing score with the family and outline your child's specific neurotherapy program and goals. Your child will participate in approximately 20-40 sessions depending upon your child's diagnosis and personal progress throughout the program. Each Brain Training session runs approximately 30 minutes long, and will take place a minimum of twice a week. After every 10 sessions, a follow-up T.O.V.A. Test is performed, and the results will be compared to your child’s prior performance. The Cost of the Program Because neurofeedback therapy is still not considered a standard of care by most health insurance companies, reimbursement will vary from insurance company to insurance company.
